Loggerhead Triathlon to close A1A in North County on Saturday morning

North county drivers: Stay away from A1A from Carlin Park south to Donald Ross Road on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 5.

About 600 athletes plan to compete in the annual Jupiter Medical Center Loggerhead Triathlon.

The event will begin at approximately 5:30 a.m. with race participants and volunteers gathering at Carlin Park.

The race, run annually since 1985, is scheduled to start at 7 a.m.

The race course consists of a 3/8 mile ocean swim, 13 mile bike and flat 3.1 mile run.

Awards will be given to the top 3 overall in each division.

The event is expected to conclude around 9:45 a.m.

The park and roads should be cleared of volunteers and participants by 11:00 a.m.

AIA from Carlin Park to Donald Ross Road will be closed


  • A1A closed from the main entrance to Carlin Park (Van Kessel Parkway) south to Donald Ross Road from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • A1A and the road to the Inlet Park from Van Kessel Parkway closed from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

North county motorists: Stay away from A1A on Saturday morning

Motorists in north county should stay away from A1A for a few hours Saturday morning — the road will be closed for about 500 runners expected for the Run 4 The Sea sponsored by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

A1A will be closed to traffic from Donald Ross Road north to Marcinski Road starting at about 5 a.m.

The road is expected to reopen at noon.

Reopening could be earlier depending on when the race finishes, according to the organizers.

Jupiter drivers: Avoid these roads Saturday morning


The following roads in Jupiter will be closed for Live Like Jake 5k race on Saturday, May 13th, from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m.

  • Southbound lane of Central Boulevard between Indian Creek Parkway and University Boulevard
  • University Boulevard between Crescent Drive and Central Boulevard

Motorists and cyclists should operate with caution in this area and stay alert for race participants.

Drivers: Avoid A1A early Saturday morning in north county


Don’t try to drive on A1A early Saturday morning, May 6, from Marcinski Road to Ocean Way — the road will be closed for Turtle Trot.

That section of A1A is expected to be closed from about 6 a.m. – 9 a.m.

The 5K (3.1-mile) race is expected to draw hundreds of runners.
