The 3,400-square-foot restaurant is being renovated and will open by the end of the year as a new Dunkin’ Donuts, said Trish Naya Norene, the executive director of Countyline Plaza on the southwest corner of Countyline Road and U.S. 1.
The word is out on the street, she said.
“A gentleman came in the leasing office the other day. He was holding an empty coffee cup. He asked me when the new Dunkins was going to open,” said Norene.
The new Dunkins will have a drive-through window, as did the Wendy’s.
The closest Dunkins on U.S. 1 to the north is at Bridge Road in Hobe Sound.
To the south, Dunkins coffee lovers have to go to Alternate A1A and Indiantown Road.
“Popeye’s and other restaurants were interested. It’s a perfect spot for a Dunkins,” said Norene.
Wendy’s closed Dec. 26, said Norene.
The plaza, which has about 1,400 parking spaces, also contains a Publix, Chase Bank, Time to Eat Diner and Rocky’s Hardware store.
