Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is adding turn lanes on PGA Boulevard, so some road closures are in order in Palm Beach Gardens.
PGA Boulevard eastbound and westbound between Avenue of the Champions/Mirasol Drive and Fairway Drive will have a one lane closed 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, March 20 through Friday, March 24 and again 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on those dates, the Florida Department of Transportation advises.
There will also be a single-lane closure from the intersection of PGA Boulevard and Florida’s Turnpike to south of the PGA Boulevard toll plaza from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. March 20 through March 24, the department advises.
Lane closures have been intermittent since the project started in October.
Here’s why the lanes are closed:
Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is adding turn lanes, milling and resurfacing PGA Boulevard and the ramp entrance south of the toll plaza and improving drainage and curbs. All four traffic signal mast arms will be replaced at the intersection of PGA Boulevard and Florida’s Turnpike. It’s estimated the project, which includes other improvements, will cost $1.6 million and be completed in mid-March.
