If you were cruising down Alternate A1A on your way to work Thursday morning, you might have noticed the light poles looked a little…odd. Specifically, a little orange.
Here’s the explanation for that orange stuff wrapped around the poles between Northlake Boulevard and Lighthouse Drive:
Florida Power & Light is setting new poles. The power company wanted to protect the equipment on the new poles from the high winds and severe weather this past weekend so that when they move the power lines to the new poles, there are no issues.
That’s per FPL spokesman Bill Orlove.
FPL had its hands full on Alternate A1A north of there. The storm that included a tornado took down a power line. The downed wire caused eastbound Donald Ross Road at Alternate A1A to close all day Monday and into the night.
