Foundations by families of missing Tequesta teens plan safe boating classes


Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos, both 14, left Jupiter Inlet in a boat on July 24, 2015 and never returned.

Safe-boating classes sponsored by the foundations established by the families of Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos are planned in Jupiter.

The classes, limited to about 30 people, are taught by members of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 52.

Those taking the classes pay a $10 registration fee.

The fee is returned when the class is completed.

Online registration is open for classes on Jan. 14, Feb. 11 and March 11. The classes are sponsored by the AustinBlu Foundation.

The classes are held at the River Center at Burt Reynolds Park.
