If you’re always seeing Palm Beach Gardens from behind the lens of a camera, this one’s for you.

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to enter their best high-resolution pictures in the city’s first photography contest. It’s only open to residents and students of the city. Winning photos will be showcased in a special exhibit at City Hall this fall. The deadline for entries is Sept. 15. Each photographer can submit up to three pictures in each of the five categories. Entries can be submitted online at pbgfl.com/photocontest.

The categories, per the city, are:

  • Beauty Abounds (Nature & Landscape in the City)
  • Digital Manipulation (Add an artistic layer with Photoshop, etc.)
  • iGardens (iPhone photos)
  • PBG Culture (Showing human interaction in candid scenes)
  • Black & White (Classic black and white images of the City)

A reception will be held to reveal the finalists and present awards to winners 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 in the City Hall lobby, 10500 N. Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens. The photos will be displayed for the public Oct. 10 to Dec. 1.
