Higher water bills may be coming to Jupiter customers

Jupiter Water Utilities customers may be paying about $17 more annually if rate increases are approved by the Jupiter town council at Tuesday’s 7 p.m. meeting.

The increase for the average residential customer’s monthly stormwater utility fee would go up from about a dime to $4.65.

The increase for the average residential customer’s monthly water rate would go up about $1.31 to about $34.97.

Water rates in Jupiter are 21 percent lower than stormwater utility rates statewide, according to the Florida Association of Stormwater Utilities.

Stormwater fee increases apply only to town residences and commercial properties.
