*Hit the beach and give a child hope: Get your workout of the day 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Marcinski Park, 2188 Marcinski Rd., with Hard Exercise Works. Yes, that’s in Jupiter, but it’s part of a Palm Beach Gardens-based nonprofit’s effort to raise $10,000 to care for a child in foster care. Here’s how Place of Hope’s challenge works: 1. Take a photo of yourself exercising. 2. Donate $10 to the nonprofit that cares for children in foster care. 3. Upload your photo to social media with #fitforhope, and invite friends to do the same. Bonus: Marcinski Beach is dog-friendly, so you can bring your pup.
*Enjoy a date night: Craft Haus at Downtown at the Gardens is hosting a night during which you can drop off your children between ages 5 to 12, and they can paint pottery, watch a movie and chow down on pizza and popcorn while you enjoy a quiet evening or night on the town. This week’s pottery is Peter Pan-themed. It’s from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and costs $35 per child.
*Hit up Twisted Trunk for Boobies and Brewskis: We got a little too excited for this event and included it on the list last weekend. But it’s here! While the kids are painting pottery, head over to the brewery at the southwest corner of PGA Boulevard and U.S. 1 to get a taste of the custom Bluewater Babes Berry Brew. A $20 donation at the door includes light appetizers and one pint of beer. The event from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday benefits Bluewater Babes, a local charity supporting people with cancer.
