*Cool off at the pool: If you don’t have a pool in your community (or even if you do), the Palm Beach Gardens Aquatic Complex has a lot to offer. Admission is only $3 for residents. Non-residents can get in for $10. Summer hours are posted online here.

*Rent a kayak and cruise down the Earman River: There are places that offer kayak rentals and even guided tours if you’re new to the area or just making the most of vacation. You can easily get to the Earman River or Intracoastal Waterway from Nautical Ventures.

*Get a silhouette of your child: Edward Casey, a former top-selling portrait artist with Walt Disney World, will create children’s silhouettes 12 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Swoozie’s at Downtown at the Gardens, 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave. He uses surgical scissors and fine paper to cut the silhouettes in minutes, according to the event page. Call 770-546-2206 to register or obtain more information.

Note: An earlier version of this post featured a charity event that’s at Twisted Trunk next weekend, July 30.
