*Cool off at the pool: Every Friday night’s a party at the North Palm Beach Pool, 951 U.S. 1, through August 12. Admission from 6 to 10 p.m. is $1 per person, and children younger than three years old are admitted free. A DJ plays classic rock and today’s hits, and there are fun games for the family. The tiki bar and snack bar are open.

*Enjoy country music: Recording artist Samantha Russell will perform 7 p.m. Saturday at Downtown at the Gardens, 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave. She’s opened for Jake Owen, Big and Rich and Dierks Bentley, according to her bio. Her music is good for all ages.

*Hit the trails: Wind down the weekend by getting outside. Sweetbay Natural Area offers a kiosk with educational exhibits, an accessible nature trail with a boardwalk and covered observation platform and a natural-surface hiking trail. The entrance is on the west side of Aviation Boulevard inside the North County Airport. The natural area, 12560 Aviation Rd., is made up of 1,094 acres. Bring water and use the bathroom before you leave the house.
