Construction on the Jupiter Federal Bridge on US 1 over the Loxahatchee River is the topic for public meeting from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at the Jupiter Community Center, 200 Military Tr.
The ongoing 0.2-mile project is expected to be completed in late summer 2016, weather permitting. The construction cost is about $282,000.

Work is being performed by Southern Road and Bridge, LLC, with the Florida Department of Transportation overseeing the project.
Work will be performed daily, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, on the east side of the bridge outside of the water channel. Brief intermittent lane closures may occur as needed to stage equipment.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

The majority of the bridge rehabilitation work will take place underneath the bridge via barge, and should have little to no impact on boater traffic in the waterway or motorist traffic on top of the bridge.

This project is separate from the construction of a new bridge on U.S. 1 over the Loxahatchee River. That project is in the design phase.
