A “Stand Up For Sealife” event is planned Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. at the Civic Center crossover at the northern end of Carlin Park.

The event is free and open to the public.

Volunteers plan to line up on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean at 9:15 a.m. and stand for five minutes holding Mylar balloons that have been collected from local beaches.

The event is to bring attention to the hundreds of sea turtles and other marine animals that are entangled in the plastic pollution, according to an event press release.

Participants after the event will be invited to have a free juice at Rock Steady Juice Joint at Indiantown Road and U.S. 1. They should bring their own reusable glasses.
