Charles Modica’s plan to build an outdoor market place on four acres along the Jupiter Inlet is up for a final vote tonight at the meeting at town hall starting at 7 p.m.
The plan calls for about a dozen one- and two-story buildings with a total of about 50,000 square feet. There are 262 parking spaces planned. A promenade would narrow as it approaches the Jupiter Inlet, where it would turn into a pedestrian-only walkway.
A commercial fishing dock and connection to The Riverwalk are planned.
The town council voted 3-2 on May 17 to give initial approval to the plan.
Here is what could happen tonight:
- The town could approve the plan. Modica would then submit building plans for approval.
- The town could deny approval.
- The town could delay a final vote.
- The town could not vote to approve the plan. They could vote consider a proposal for the town to buy the property from Modica.
