Another sea turtle heads home Wednesday in Juno Beach

A sea turtle named  Betty White is scheduled to be released Wednesday, June 8th at 11 a.m. from beach at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Admission is free and donations are accepted.

The release will take place on the beach located adjacent to the center in Loggerhead Park, just north of Donald Ross Road in Juno Beach.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early for best viewing and to see the turtle prepared for its return home to the ocean.

Betty White is a near-adult loggerhead that was  stranded in the Intracoastal Waterway in Jupiter last December with flotation issues.

She is now healthy and ready to go home after being treated at LMC.

Betty White will be fitted with a satellite-linked transmitter prior to the release.  The gadget, about the size of a cell phone, allows her to be followed by logging on to LMC.
