Divers are planning to compete Saturday, June 4, to catch the biggest, smallest and most lionfish  in Tequesta.

Awards up to $1,000 will be given out at the competition at Jupiter Pointe Marina.

More than 8,000 of the non-native fluttering lionfish were taken in the statewide second annual Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day Festival last month.

In Pensacola alone, 8,089 lionfish were removed in only two days at the Gulf Coast Lionfish Coalition Tournament.
