Girls Powder Puff football game on tonight in Jupiter

Game is at Velocity Community Credit Union Stadium

Game is at Velocity Community Credit Union Stadium at Jupiter High School

Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight for the almost-cancelled girls tackle football game between the juniors and seniors at Jupiter Community High School.

The annual game — a 50-year tradition at the school — looked like it might not happen earlier this month when the school’s principal Dan Frank, fearing injury of the players,  pulled the plug  on the game.

The students and their parents successfully secured insurance, equipment and the use of the high school’s field through the town’s agreement with the school district to use school property for events.

The town council also supported the reinstating the event.

Opening events at the stadium next to the school on Military Trail are scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Food and entertainment are planned.

Parking is free

Tickets: $5 for adults, $3 for children, anyone under 6 years old is free
