Palm Beach Gardens police are getting help paying for a college degree.
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation on Tuesday announced a tuition-reimbursement program to help officers who are pursuing higher education degrees. The program has $5,000 available each year, $2,500 for the the summer semester and $2,500 for the fall.
An officer must work for the city full-time and be pursuing his or her first bachelor’s degree from an accredited university to be eligible.
Foundation President Tom Murphy said it will be beneficial not only for officers who improve their skills, but also to the overall operations of the city police department.
“The foundation is committed to the growth and development of our Palm Beach Gardens Police Department and of its officers,” Murphy said in a news release.
