It’s that time of year again.
The first loggerhead turtle nest of the season at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park was spotted this week, the park announced on its Instagram Wednesday. The park on Jack Nicklaus Drive in North Palm Beach has almost two miles of beach.
Last year, the beach saw 1,494 loggerhead nests, 1,259 green turtle nests and 39 leatherback nests.
Registration for Sea Turtle Talk & Walks for members only opens 9 a.m. May 31, according to the park’s website. The tours are certain Saturdays in June and July.
