The sounds of Broadway aren’t confined to the bright stages and bustling streets of New York.

The cabaret group High Standards brought the songs of “Phantom of the Opera” and other musical favorites to about 100 people who live in the Devonshire retirement community at PGA National March 28.

The Devonshire’s cabaret season runs from January to April, during which time residents get high-quality evening entertainment in The Stratford, the community’s performing arts theater.

“The cabaret nights are one of our residents’ favorite nights of the year,” Irene Malanga, director of community resources at Devonshire, said in a news release. “They get all dressed up as if they were attending a Broadway show.”

The final cabaret night of the season will feature Julliet-trained singer-impressionist Paul Tanner. Tanner’s shows include Elvis, Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond impressions.
