Learn about fishing and other neat stuff on Earth Day

Registration is open for the April 16 Earth Day activities at Hobe Sound Nature Center.

The event is free.

Activities include:

  • A “hook Kids on Fishing” clinic is co-sponsored by the Anglers for Conservation. Children 5-14 with their parents get fishing poles, tackle and mini-fishing lessons from local fishermen and try their luck along the Loxahatchee River Lagoon.
  • “Explore the Seagrasses” is for children at least four years old. Participants get nets and catch and release small marine animals under the supervision of local marine experts.
  • Crafts will be offered throughout the day.
  • Participants will be given a plant to take home.
