Buy a meal on Wednesday, March 30, at one of the Jersey Mike’s restaurants in Palm Beach County and you will be donating to Quantum House, a local charity that provides temporary lodging and emotional support for families whose children are receiving treatment locally for serious medical conditions.

All money taken in throughout the day Wednesday at local Jersey Mike’s restaurants goes to the non-profit center near St. Mary’s Medical Center campus on 45th Street in West Palm Beach.

Quantum House allows about 500 families a year to stay at their 10-room center. The center is adding a new structure, which will give them 20 more rooms.

A fitness and business area, as well as an area for children to play, are planned at the new center expected to open in the next few months, said Elizabeth Portmess, the Quantum House manager of community relations and events.

In 2015, Jersey Mike’s locations in Florida raised about $73,800 for Quantum House.

The national restaurant chain holds its annual Month of Giving every March, which culminates in the final “Day of Giving” on March 30. This is the sixth annual event.

Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $14 million nationwide for local charities, according to the company website.
