Need money for college? Here’s an option.

Getting a college education is an expensive undertaking, and every penny counts when you’re trying to pay those tuition bills.

The Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation is again offering two, $1,500 scholarships at the end of the 2015-16 school year.

“The police foundation is pleased to extend our scholarship program into the current school year. We have continued the award amount of $1,500 to recognize the continuing surge in U.S. higher education costs,” foundation Vice President Charles Gusmano said in a news release.

Applications are on the foundation website and through the Palm Beach County School District, private schools and other educational institutions. The scholarship review committee will consider academic performance, community service, letters of recommendation, character references, financial need and an essay.

Completed applications must be returned to the foundation by U.S. mail and postmarked by April 15. Awards will be announced on or about June 1, according to the release.

More information and the application is available on the foundation’s website here.
